Launched in 2006, the Enigma Quartet is one of the most dynamic young ensembles to emerge from the classical scene in Australia. The group is comprised of four talented and passionate musicians from the Sydney Symphony, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Australian Opera Ballet Orchestra.
Performing a vast range of styles from classical to contemporary, the quartet is widely experienced with all types of engagements, from concert hall performances to corporate functions, weddings, television appearances, launches, parties and studio recordings.
Since its inception Enigma has had a regular concert series at the Art Gallery of NSW as part of the popular Sunday Lunchtime Series. In March 2008 they were broadcast across Australia for Sunday Live on ABC Classic FM and in November they traveled to New Zealand for a regional concert tour of the South Island.
As well as concert performances, the quartet has carved a niche in the world of corporate entertaining. The quartet has played at some of Sydney’s most exclusive social events and has worked extensively in both the national and international conference arena.
Enigma has a vibrant and innovative approach to a wide range of musical styles. They have appeared many times on Australian Idol, Today Show, Sunrise, Domestic Blitz and Kerri-Anne as well as performing alongside artists such as Angus and Julia Stone, Cat Empire, Human Nature, Jimmy Barnes, Katie Noonan, Kanye West, Il Divo, Mark Lizotte, Missy Higgins, Patrizio Buanne, Ronan Keating, and Tina Arena.
