Sebastiant photography is run by Sebastian and Lee. Sebastian’s background is fashion and portraiture. Having attended the College of Fine Arts in Sydney and majoring in photography, he embarked on a journey to New York where he worked for 15 years as an assistant for notable photographers, Richard Avedon, Arthur Elgort and Albert Watson, learning technical, lighting and creative skills in all aspects of photography. Sebastian then went solo, undertaking fashion and portrait assignments for publications such as Vanity Fair, New York Magazine, TV Guide and Harpers Bazaar. About 8 years ago Sebastian decided to start shooting weddings professionally after photographing a friends wedding and enjoying it immensely. He liked how weddings incorporated so many genres of photography, fashion, lifestyle, portraiture, food, still life and architecture. If he was to describe his style he would say "My work is very much in the lifestyle genre but mixed with a strong fashion influence, its not reportage, I want my couple to look great & feel great and the day look and feel incredible, I’m not just out to document the wedding, I want it to look great or even better! The photography must be really fun for the couple, I keep them moving so they’re never really aware that they’re being photographed. I work efficiently so the couple is at their party as soon as possible so that their only memory of the day is not the photography, but the getting ready, the ceremony and time spent celebrating with friends and family.
Lee Holmes is a first-rate second photographer on bigger weddings and is also the business manager of Sebastiantphotography. Lee looks after interviews, creative vision, scheduling, editing, proofing and album design. Lee possesses an incredible eye for detail and excellent follow through in delivering you a beautiful album to your specifications. Lee’s professional background is in DVD and Music production.
